Giftrot, 2022-2023

„Die Serie Giftrot ist inspiriert durch eine Reportage der Global Environment Organization (GEO) über Rotschlamm in Frankreich aus dem Jahr 2020. Rotschlamm ist ein Abfallprodukt der Aluminiumindustrie, der in den 60er Jahren ins Meer geleitet wurde und heute noch die Landschaft unter rotbraunem Staub und Schlamm versinken lässt. Durch das Beschichten und Entfernen von Pigmenten untersuche ich die neu entstandene Form der Bildwahrnehmung.“

"The series 'Giftrot' ('Poison Red') is inspired by a reportage of the Global Environment Organization (GEO) on red sludge in France from 2020. Red mud is a waste product of the Aluminum industry, which covered the landscape under reddish-brown dust and mud in the 60s. Todays, the pollution is still present. By coating and removing of the pigments, I analyze the new form of appearance and perception."
