a project about the forest

"In 2020 begann ich intensiv im Wald zu fotografieren, sowohl in bewirtschafteten als auch in natürlichen Waldgebieten in Deutschland. Das Thema fesselte mich zu einer Zeit, als Fragen der Existenz und des Überlebens in den Vordergrund rückten. Der Baum, das Symbol für Leben und Vergänglichkeit, und seine Bedeutung im Wald wurden so zu meinem Schaffensraum. Die Ökologische Forschung zeigt uns, wie das Leben der Bäume im System „Wald“ und ihre Überlebensstrategien im Gesamtsystem Mensch, Tier und Pflanze funktionieren. Diesen Erkenntnissen habe ich mich fotografisch angenähert und konzentrierte mich auf Fragen unserer Verbindung mit und Beziehung zur Natur."

"In 2020, I started intensively photographing in the forest, in both managed and natural forest areas in Germany. At this time, as questions of existence and of survival came to the fore, I was captured by this topic and, it became to be my inspiration. Ecological research shows us the life of trees in the system 'forest' and its strategies to survive in the overall system connecting humans, animals and plants. I considered this scientific findings by photographing and focussed on questions of our connection and relationship to nature."
